POSTCARDS from the PEAKS
Hi, I’m Stu and I’ll be carrying a cast, iron Royal Mail Post Box to the highest point in all 15 of the National parks in the UK to combat loneliness by sparking meaningful connections and conversations.
Join us on this journey
Come hike with Stu! Bring your friends, your family, or come along solo and make new connections. If you can’t join is on a walk then send a postcard to someone who could use a bit of hope or request a postcard yourself. It’s okay not to be okay. It’s not okay to have to face things alone. Postcards from the Peaks aims to break the silence around loneliness, using the simplicity of a postcard and the shared adventure of a hike to build genuine connections.
Meet Stu Skinner as he talks about his quest on ITV News. He's hiking all 15 national parks in the UK with a postbox on his back.
My mission
I never planned on waking up with a 21kg cast iron Royal Mail postbox. It was an impulsive, absurd and questionable charity auction purchase. But in a moment of loneliness, eviction and uncertainty, it felt like exactly the catalyst I needed. Could this postbox change my life by sparking meaningful connections and conversations?
Life has thrown plenty of challenges my way, but I have a history of transforming these moments into something joyful and meaningful. Carrying a ridiculously heavy postbox up mountains and sending postcards to strangers is my latest adventure, my way of breaking out of isolation and bringing more joy into my life. Maybe even yours too?
So come join me on a hike, post a postcard from a peak or use the form to send one yourself or receive one from me!

Postcards from the Peaks is about sparking meaningful connections and tackling loneliness, one step, one story, and one postcard at a time.
This campaign has been entirely self funded. I’m living full time in a half converted van, carrying a cast iron postbox to the highest peak in every UK national park, sending postcards, running community walks, visiting schools, and having conversations that really matter. There’s no big organisation backing me. It’s just me, driven by a genuine belief that what I’m doing makes a difference.
My goal is £10,000. This will ensure Postcards from the Peaks can continue and help support this year's Head Outside Awards. Every penny donated goes directly to our registered charity (1212781). Nothing comes to me personally.
Help keep this campaign going!
